As I get older, I find it more difficult to make travel arrangements with friends. Different schedules, prior engagements, budgeting, and procrastination can easily get in the way of planning. Luckily, my friends Sara and Jonathan were on the same wavelengths as Andrew and I so we decided to make it happen before the end of Summer. We listed out potential places to explore within the US and narrowed it down to San Francisco.
We packed our sweater weather clothes and flew across the country to start our west coast adventures. We had a jam packed schedule and wanted to make the most of it without wasting any time. We visited most of the tourist spots, explored the Redwood forests, got our drank on at Napa Valley, and ate... A LOT.
After spending four days in San Francisco, I just want to share what I learned during my trip... San Francisco reminds me of a west coast version of New York City. It's completely different from SoCal and coffee/bubble tea shops serve drinks in mason jars. The steep hills are no joke, and the weather is bi-polar so wear layers! There was so much to do in a short amount of time. I would need to move out there just so I can knockout all the places I want to try. Overall, it was tons of fun traveling with my friends and I'm looking forward to our next location! Checkout below to see a list of places we visited.
Dandelion Chocolate (featured on Kinfolk)
Mission Cheese (next door to Dandelion and featured on Kinkfolk)
Boba Guys (Bubble Tea in mason jars!)
Dolores Park (scenic view of the city)
Hayes Valley for shopping
Smitten Ice Cream (corn flavored ice cream!)
Soulva (Jonathan ordered from here and it was delicious!)
The Painted Ladies
The Mill Coffee
Little Star Pizza
Tanpopo Ramen (the ramen was okay but at least we stopped by Japantown)
Muir Woods (my favorite part of the trip!)
Sunflower Caffe Espresso & Wine (Smoked Duck Breast Sandwich was delicious!)
Golden Gate Bridge (so HUGE and magical in person)
Plentea (cute bubble tea packaging next to Ramen Underground in Chinatown)
Four Barrel Coffee
Yank Sing (dim sum!)
SoMa StrEat Food Park
Front Coffee + Cafe (espresso float was da bomb!)
Outerlands (dinner date with Andrew at this whimsical restaurant!)
General Store (there's a secret garden in the back of their store)
Spending countless hours researching and gathering recommendations paid off in the end. I hope this list will save time for anyone who is traveling to San Francisco! Cheers!
