Janette Kim is an artiste by heart. She explored her passion by moving to New York City to study graphic design and motion graphics at the School of Visual Arts. During her tenure as a student, she learned to step out of her comfort zone and challenged herself to think outside the box. After graduating, she returned to the DC metro area where she freelanced at BET Networks, worked full-time at LMO Advertising as a senior designer, and also exercised her passion for photography and videography. Janette’s approach to design is to incorporate strong concepts leaving an emotional imprint.
Janette is always finding other ways to keep her imagination flowing through personal projects that expresses who she is as an artist. One of Janette’s personal photo projects called “ette janette” is about an exaggerated miniature version of herself exploring unexpected places. Through her “Ette Janette” project, she hopes to convey that there is beauty in all small things. At the end of the day, Janette is a wanderlust who enjoys collecting small trinkets, watching Audrey Hepburn films, jamming out to music, and appreciating what life has to offer.
